Daily Routine and Mood – How Certain Tasks Affect Us and Makes us Feel Good

Posted by

I can honestly say that I can be a pretty lazy guy. All in all, I’m not happy with that, and I am trying to improve.

One thing I’ve noticed is that I feel a lot better on the days where I actually accomplish things, actually do things to improve myself or the situation around me.  Here’s a few of them:

1 – Clean Something – In my busy life, I am humble enough to admit that my house is not the cleanest in the world. In fact, I could probably be doing some cleaning right now.. I must say, that days that I work towards improving my dwelling really are more fulfilling.

2 – Work Out – Many people would say that a visit to the gym, or a run in the morning is a great way to start the day. In my situation, I’m just lucky to get that in my day at all. I am working towards doing this more often, but I absolutely feel better every single time I hit the gym!

3 – Do Homework/Work on project – This one is a bit specific to students, but I feel like days that I spend getting some of my homework done, instead of waiting til the day it is due, I end up feeling much better. I know I am not going to have to stress wildly about things when it comes time to turn in that assignment.

4 – Thoroughly clean my body – This one is a bit personal, but when I get in and really work on my body, a shower with a deep clean, wash hair, shave, wash face, brush teeth, floss, mouth rinse, and trim the fingernails and toenails, I feel like a much better person. Sometimes these are half assed, and I need to keep up on it more!

5 – Pay Bills / Get Tasks done on my to-do list – This one should make everyone feel good. Pay the bills ahead of time, wash the car, mail in your registration payment, call the school to have a question answered, go to the bank; just do things you know you need to do!

6 – Dress up – I feel amazing when I dress up in a nice shirt and a tie. I know I look like an important man, I feel like I stand a bit taller when I dress sharper. This, combined with #4 really work wonders!

7 – Write a blog post – Finally, the blog post! I have only been doing this for 6 days now, but I absolutely love sharing my thoughts with my (now) eight followers! I know I am new to blogging, but I feel like I am making a difference in my life, and my goal is to inspire at least one person to make a positive change in their life.

This is a list that is a bit longer than my previous ones. I think I should make this a daily checklist in order to make myself feel as great as possible!
